About Us
Meaning “SHE CAN”, “I CAN” in both French and Maasai, Elle Peut Naidim (EPN) story is a success story of gender equality and inclusion of adolescents’ girls and boys as envisioned by the Tanzania Development Vision 2025 and Sustainable Development Goals. We focus on improving the lives of adolescents’ girls through empowering them, building their agencies and including boys and community in the process as well as striving for a community in which girls and young boys are able to thrive and realize their fullest potential.
Many adolescent girls and boys are enrolled in schools but many of them are neither retained nor transitioning due to various challenges such as reduced agency, limiting social cultural norms, period poverty, bullying, peer pressure, long distance, child abuse etc. For instance, according to Controller and Auditor General report, between July 2021 to June 2022, 42,954 girls dropped out of school due to pregnancies itself.
Self-awareness education to both girls and boys, addressing the challenges that they are facing which prevent them to stay in school and transition. Other interventions such as life skills programs and mentorship programs as well as creating gender transformative safe spaces for adolescent girls and boys both in school and in the communities to conduct adolescent friendly life changing programs as well as parental capacity building to both parents and teachers. EPN has designed a unique guideline which incorporate our three life changing programs (HAPPY PERIOD, HAPPY GIRLS, THE LAST KILOMETER and MSICHANA CAMP (Girls Camp)
